Manchester Children's Book Festival 26 June - 6 July 2014

The Manchester Children’s Book Festival was devised in 2010 by Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy, and is run by her team in the Manchester Writing School at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The Festival takes place every two years and includes events at many of Manchester’s major cultural venues (theatres, museums, galleries, libraries), and in local and regional school and community settings.

The programme blends public events featuring high-profile children’s authors – Cathy Cassidy, Philip Pullman, Michael Rosen and Jacqueline Wilson have all taken part – with activities for school groups, and training for teachers to ensure the Festival has an impact and legacy in the classroom.
